Company History
Blue Bell was founded in 1982 by Lei Barry. Through research and her own experience, Lei saw a need for a medical
workstation designed to meet the needs of the various hospital departments. From this viewpoint, she developed the
first true workstation to fit the requirements of anesthesia providers.
Originally located in and named after Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Blue Bell steadily grew to include carts for other
specialty applications and was the first to introduce an emergency cart for malignant hyperthermia. In 1998, Blue
Bell was acquired by Kennedy Manufacturing and operations were moved to the Kennedy facility in Van Wert, Ohio. With
ownership by Kennedy, Blue Bell could continue to provide the steady demand for engineering, development, and dedication
to quality.
Today, Blue Bell products are still manufactured in the Kennedy facility in Van Wert, OH. Kennedy, the oldest and best
recognized name in industrial storage solutions, uses its nearly 100 years of engineering and manufacturing experience
in building high quality products to continually improve and enhance the Blue Bell line of products. Kennedy and Blue
Bell are both owned by KMC Holdings LLC.
Blue Bell is committed to providing quality, user-driven designed workstations to the medical industry.
